Why give
Give the castle back its view
The Přimda Castle Association is working to build a viewing platform inside the castle tower. Today the nine-hundred-year-old building stands surrounded by forest and visitors can see almost nothing from it. A walkway inside the keep will change that – without touching the historic masonry.
- The money goes to planning, structural engineering and building the platform itself.
- We are a citizens’ initiative, not a company – none of us is paid for this work.
- On request we will gladly show how the funds have been used.

Your most frequent questions
Whatever you feel is right. A hundred crowns or ten thousand – every gift counts and all of it goes to the same cause.
If you pay tax in the Czech Republic, yes – under the conditions of the Czech Income Tax Act (individuals from a yearly total of CZK 1,000, companies from CZK 2,000). Whether a gift to a Czech association can be deducted in another country depends on that country’s rules. We will gladly issue a confirmation of your donation – write to info@hradprimda.cz.
That depends on how quickly we can raise the funds and obtain approval from the heritage authorities and other offices. We will report on progress on this website.
Quite the opposite – the platform is designed as a sensitive structure inside the tower. The whole project is being prepared together with experts and the heritage protection authorities.
Certainly. We welcome volunteers for clearing and maintaining the grounds, craftspeople, and people who are good with design, writing, photography or archival research. Write to us and we will work something out.
The castle stands on Přimda hill, 848 metres above sea level and about 150 metres above the town. A marked path leads up from the town; the last stretch is steeper. The area is a nature reserve on the edge of the Český les Protected Landscape Area – please keep to the paths.
